Business intelligence (BI) refers to technologies, applications and practices for the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of business information and sometimes to the information itself. The purpose of business intelligence--a term that dates at least to 1958--is to support better business decision making.[1] Thus, BI is also described as a decision support system (DSS):[2]
SAS solutions are used worldwide at 96 of the top 100 companies of the 2007 FORTUNE Global 500® list. Dutch clients of SAS include the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and ING.
In July 2009 another 10-month degree Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) will start off at the NC State University of North Carolina. The MSA is designed to give students a thorough understanding of the tools, methods, applications and practice of advanced analytics. EOM offers three seats. More information can be found here.
